Many people have truly no idea what flirting is, much less how to do it effectively.
Flirting can be a dangerous game if you’re playing with the wrong people, I also believe that flirting can be healthy – as long as you’re taking the energy you’re building and putting it back into your relationship. So, what can innocent flirting with a co-worker, stranger, or random bartender do to help your relationship? More than you may think.
- Flirting Gives You Confidence
- Flirting Keeps You Sharp
- Flirting Lets You Build Up Sexual Energy
- Flirting Remind You How Good You Have it
Truth is, though, in today’s busy and crowded world, you often only get a very short time to make an impression on someone- often from a distance- and flirting may be the only chance you get. Whether it’s in a crowded classroom, restaurant, mall, or other gathering place, you constantly have an opportunity to meet new people through subtle flirting. For the girl, flirting can send a message to the guy from a distance that you’re interested, or at least you want to get to know him a little better. For the guy, flirting with a girl gives you a chance to see her reaction to you. A positive reaction would likely give you the signal to introduce yourself. Flirting, accomplished effectively, sends the signal that you are a friendly, nice, and fun person, and you may be interested in the other person.
Usually the first contact made with a “Potentially Interesting Person” (from this point forward they will be referred to as “PIPs”) is eye contact.
Dating can be a lot of fun, but it is not always easy. Keep these tips in mind to make dating less stressful.
1. Listen to your parents
2. Make sure your parents parents are okay with the date and okay with the guy
3. Make sure you and your date are not giving or receiving mixed signals.
4. If you do not know your date well, go on a double date or a group date.
5. Don’t accept gifts on a first date or from a guy you are not really interested in.
6. Never try to make someone give up interests or dreams for you. Ultimatums are a bad idea; they’re also unfair. If he has been playing football since he was old enough to walk, he is not likely to give it up just because you say so.
7. Try to get along with his friends. One thing that can destroy a relationship quickly is making someone choose between you and his friends.
8. No date is perfect. If you start out with extremely high expectations, you may end up disappointed.
9. Never agree to something that makes you uncomfortable. This includes everything from going to a gory movie you don’t want to see, to giving in to a guy’s advances.
10. Call Mom or Dad if necessary. You may think that trying to handle a situation on your own is the “grown up” thing to do, but some situations can get out of control.
